Driving the Oregon coast can make you really crave cheese. Why not stop for a tour and some delicious cheese samples? Where you ask? The Tillamook cheese factory, of course!
The parking lot is huge and plenty of RV parking with easy in and out of the lot. I was really surprised on how busy it was in the middle of the week. So that might be a consideration if you do want a quick in and out stop. Our stop was about an hour and a half. I did find the prices of the cheese were all MSRP. They seemed higher than the prices at the grocery store.
Something really impressed me about the factory…you know those thick slices of cheese? They are cut by human hands on a deli slicer right on the manufacturing line! We could not resist having a grilled vintage cheddar cheese sandwich on sourdough for lunch! It was fabulous. Did I mention we really really love cheese?
